Arienko - Shattered Bond

One of my best pieces I've kept back for a more important occasion - namely my 400th submitted deviation.

On the course of the Arienko campaign, Ramicil's goddess Aaricia asked of him that he made a *great* sacrifice in her honor. And what greater sacrifice could he make than the part of his very soul that was Aarie his familiar...?

And so Aarie was recalled to Aaricia's side in the Celestial Planes, where she was born in the first place.

But it *was* a costly sacrifice, and Ramicil was broken by the loss of his beloved familiar, weeping over the memories of her presence...

This is possibly the most "emotionally" intense picture in my collection, you can literally feel the poor guy's pain. And seeing Aarie's joyful expression adds even to the drama by contrasting so much with the feel or loss.
