All prices listed are in Canadian dollars currency.
WARNING!: There is no refund if you send in United States Dollar currency!

NOTE: Maximum of three characters, total.

:star: 2. PAYMENT :star:

2-1. The only mode of payment accepted is Paypal.
2-2. The entirety of payment is to be made before any work is actually done.
2-3. No refunds unless extraordinary circumstances.

:star: 3. ACCEPTED PROJECTS :star:

3-1. I can take a shot at any kind of character, creature, or monster, though I'm at my best drawing pin-ups of any kind of female character. Specialty in underwater scenes.
3-2. I reserve the right to refuse projects that are either too perverse, too kinky, too fancy in scope, or too complicated for my skill level and/or tastes. (see 4. RED FLAG LIST below)
3-3. Nudity and sexuality are acceptable, subject to approval. (see 4. RED FLAG LIST below)

:star: 4. THE RED FLAG LIST :star:

4-1. Any items on this list are marked hot - meaning there's a high chance I will refuse to do them, either by personal conviction or by admittance of failure to possibly satisfy the customer regarding said items.
4-1.  Considering the high number of fetishes running around, I may add to that list whenever I bump into something I don't like/feel comfortable working with.

* Complicated machines (like motorcycles or mecha).
* Pregnant women.
* Anything with diapers.
* Heavy bondage (things having more than say, two or three straps or knots). Straightjackets fall into this category.
* Feet fetishes.
* "Untransportables": Girls with boobs so huge they need a wheelbarrow to move around. (this really creeps me out)
* That anime/manga tentacly thing.
* Culture-build females.
* Wrestling scenes.
* Aarie, my mascot/original character, in any kind of sexual situation.
* Any kind of scatology or otherwise gross thing (vomit, farts, etc).
* Gore or extreme violence like severed body parts or beheading.
* Explicit torture (drowning possibly excepted)

:star: 5. SKETCHES AND WIPs (Work-in-Progress) :star:

5-1. I usually work "straight-to-video" - that is, I make the final pic without going through sketches and/or WIPs.
5-2. If you want sketches and/or WIPs, you need to ASK for them beforehand. Otherwise I will assume I am left to my own devices and attempt to make something based on any reference material you already have given me, and/or my little nuggin'.

:star: 6. COLOR :star:

6-1. I am sadly very limited in technical versatility: I draw only with a measly .5 mechanical pencil. No ink, no color, nada. If you want one of my pieces colored, you will have to shop around to find someone willing to do so.

:star: 7. ORIGINALS :star:

7-1. I keep all original pics. You will have to make do with a high-res scan of the finished piece, which will be sent privately to your DA account or email address, whichever is the most convenient to you.

:star: 8. POSTING AND CONFIDENTIALITY :star:

8-1. I might ask permission to post a particular picture on my Deviantart gallery and/or other gallery for promotional purposes, provided the picture is of appropriate nature (i.e. no X-rated material on DA, for example).
8-2. Customers are free to post the picture on their Deviantart gallery or any other appropriate gallery, or share the picture any other way they see fit.
8-3. Any and all communications between customer and me will remain entirely confidential. If you tag a picture as "private material", it will never be posted anywhere.
8-4. By default, I assume I have posting rights if a customer post the picture himself, or if I notice a colored version has been posted at a later date.

:star: 9. RESERVATION, a.k.a. THE TICKET LIST :star:

9-1. Commissions are always open, you just need to take a reservation, also known a s a TICKET, to be added to the Waiting List.
9-2. There is no payment required when taking a TICKET, payment will be made on the month I reach your reserved spot.
9-3. There's a limit of one (1) picture per person on this list due to my large number of customers. However, you may ask to be added to the AUTO customer list, so when I finish one of your pictures, you will be added automatically to the end of the queue.
9-4. Unfortunately, I work rather slowly, so I can work on a maximum of ten (10) commissions at a time per month. This is known as the "Current List" of commissions.
9-5. Although I try to complete my orders in the order received, changes can and will happen, depending on communication/payment delays, sketches requirements and approval, my personal timetable, and random events. In any case, completion of work WILL be done the same month of payment.
9-6. Due to the large amount of traffic, I can only hold on to a TICKET for so long, which is usually the end of the month on which you have a reserved spot.
9-7. As a rule of thumb, I produce one piece every three days, so you can approximate when a given picture will be completed. Again greatly variable due to changes!
9-8. You can check my commission schedule here, updated more or less regularly:

Greetings Carbon Unit.  I am interested in a single character with background line art commission.  Scene is a six or seven year old feline female sitting on the floor watching her favorite Saturday morning show, in this case Rocky Jones, Space Ranger (1954.)  Little girl is wearing a home-made Vena Ray outfit, one probably put together by her mother.

Interested?

Okay, so being called a "carbon unit" is new. @_@

No problem for the picture. That would put you in September.

Response is "Hello Program."    Tron.    September is fine, give me a cost so I can pay you as soon as I have the funds (about four days.)  I was thinking a calendar in the scene saying 1954 in order to give the viewer a point of reference.  LOVE your work, I may become a constant commissioner.  "Hello, Commissioner Dorrycott?  Batcard here..."

I am not insane, why?  In means being a part of something and I am a solitary.  Sane means being a 'normal person' and I am Abby Normal.   :)

I would have recognized "Hello program", but I've never heard anyone say "carbon unit" in Tron. @_@

Single character and background is 25$.

References would be appreciated if possible.

Also, notes are more convenient than messages for commission communications, it's easier for me to dig them up later. :P

That's... not an issue.

If you want me to draw the same character over and over in each commission, that's none of my beeswax!

Perhaps you're confusing the issue with the number of characters on a *single* commission?

well. I guess it is not much different from Japanese in a way. Still. I am looking for someone who can draw Chinese characters for use in a commercial video game project I am doing for class.

Looking to make OC.

That looks... well, like Western animation if you ask me.

I don't see why it would be a particularly difficult style, I've done cartoons before. The big question is for you: if it's for class, are you okay to wait till August? That's where the next open spot is on my waiting list.

Well. I am looking for something more immediate. We want to have concept art to make 3d models. We want the models present before we start coding becuase we plan on using the models in alpha testing and in depending the next stage of development.

I can't really give a definitive answer without knowing the extend of the work involved. How many characters are we talking about, for example?
Reply
:icondrag0nscythe:
drag0nscythe Featured By Owner Jun 3, 2011
Two.

The hero of the story and the little girl that is related to her.

The story is based in ancient China with the backdrop being similar to "Journey to the West". The hero is from this time point. The little girl is from World War 2 China.

These are the two most important characters in the story and once we have them modeled, we would be able to extrapolate from there. Since the games style and feel is directly related to the main characters, we need to definitely know their look first before we can move on and design the world around them.

For now, all we need is the 3 views for the characters. We plan on using those views to model them in 3D.

Once the project is done, we will put it up on the Iphone market. Part of class is to put a working product on the market, so would you have any issues with using your art in a commercial product?

Thank you.

Okay, I've given it some thought, and I'm sorry but I must decline, primarily because of all my previous engagements.

I'm sorry to have taken so long for a decision, and I hope you have time to find another basket to put in your eggs.

How much would comics cost?
Reply
:iconshoxxe:
shoxxe Featured By Owner Dec 17, 2009  Professional Traditional Artist
Due to the overall complexity, I would say at least 40$, and I'm tempted to make it 50$ per page (especially if the scenario needs to be done along with the actual drawing).

I haven't worked all the details for that yet, but I would probably restrict a comic project to a maximum number of pages. I'm just not interested in making entire volumes about the same characters. For sure, I could only do about 4 pages per month.
